GLENCOE'S LITTLE DRIBBLERS REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION

Glencoe Little Dribblers

Glencoe Little Dribblers - 2020

We focus on player development through the coaching of key basketball fundamentals, individual work ethic and teamwork.

 
We are a parent volunteer run, basketball organization, serving the kids of the Glencoe community. We make the game of basketball fun through skill based stations and game play. We make teaching the game accessible for all volunteers, through simple drill instruction and focusing on the fact that we are on the court to encourage our kids.
 
We will also have the Glencoe High School basketball teams and coaches as guest coaches each week.

 

 

Who can participate?

Glencoe Little Dribblers is for boys and girls in Pre-K through 4th grade. Priority is given to the kids that live within the Glencoe High School boundaries, and selection is based on first come first served.

 

is there a limit on how many can participate?

We anticipate being able to support 50 to 70 kids per grade level, so please register soon. Space will fill up very quickly.

 

WHAT'S THE FORMAT THIS YEAR?

Targeted Dates:
  • January 7th - Volunteer Training 9am to 11pm
  • January 21st- 1st camp day
  • January 28th - 2nd camp day
  • February 11th - 3rd camp day
  • February 18th - 4th camp day
  • February 25th - Final camp day
****All events will be at Evergreen Middle School****
 
Note, the plan for the Little Dribbler Skills Sessions: 
Pre-k and Kindergarten will have their program run for 60 minutes and run slightly different stations than the older kids. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade will be 90 minutes. 
 
We, as always, reserve the right to adjust the schedule as we get more details on the gyms that we have access to for the weeks of the program and the number of kids and volunteers.

Pre-k/Kindergarten
9 AM - 10:00 AM
Saturdays at Evergreen Middle School
 
1st/2nd grade
10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Saturdays at Evergreen Middle School
 
3rd/4th grade
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Saturdays at Evergreen Middle School
 

Volunteer!

We had over 250 volunteers in our prior season!!! As many of you know, Little Dribblers volunteering is as much about giving kids high fives and a positive experience on the court as it is teaching the game through our stations.  You do not need prior basketball experience to volunteer for Little Dribblers. We at GYB strongly believe in the positive coaching experiences we can and should be giving our kids, to help them be successful on and off the court.

Volunteering highlights from the prior season:

  • 250 total volunteers
  • Nearly 80 Select Team and High School team players volunteered
  • 100 total women volunteered
  • 102 first time volunteers
  • 82 volunteers with no previous basketball experience

 

How much does it cost?

We are offering different options this year with Little Dribblers, as we want to help keep kids active, and money will not inhibit us having your child join us on the court. We are a parent volunteer run organization, that is trying to increase the access to organized sport for the Glencoe Community.
 
Here are the payment options:
$35 - a discounted price to get you on the court
$65 - the actual cost for GYB to run Little Dribblers for one player
 
There are options to give more than the above amounts, which will be considered a donation. Our tax ID number for Glencoe Youth Basketball is 47-4514381. All donations will be used for Glencoe Youth Basketball, a Glencoe parent volunteer run organization.

FAMILY DISCOUNT AVAILABLE

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available. 

 

If you are registering two or more players in your family, you will receive a 10% discount on each player's registration fee.  

In order for the registration system to recognize that you are registering multiple players, please register all of your players at this time.  On the Review Page, there is a link near the bottom to "Register Another Player" - please click on this link to ensure that all of your players are registered within the same order.
